kurapika !

welcome to my kurapika shrine! i have a lot to say about this guy, though my thoughts may come across as incredibly garbled and somewhat incoherent, i'm trying here! spoilers for hunter x hunter are present on this page, proceed with caution!

kurapika is introduced to the viewers as the sole survivor of the kurta clan, on a mission of revenge against the phantom troupe, seeking vengeance for his slain community. though becoming a hunter isn't mandatory for his goal, he notes how a hunter license makes the gathering of information easier. so there he goes, grouping up with gon and leorio, and eventually killua, as they band together through the tribulations of the hunter exam. but i know you're not likely here for a recap of his backstory and characterization; if that were the case, you'd be on his wikia page. so let me get into a bit of why i'm so fond of him!

firstly and very prominently, i relate a lot to the scarlett eyes with my own bpd-related struggles. the anger, impulsivity, emotional reactivity. i'll take whatever representation i can get! but i'm very attached to him for that reason. yeah. :) my special guy.
